Title: should they have 5/8 miles races instead of 1 mile races at---
Post by: rainman2 on March 07, 2024, 10:29:53 PM
Rosecroft?

All you get is very fast opening quarters in all classes anyway!
Read the results and look at the last 1/4-mile times.
If you can figure out when to eliminate the chalk at this track, good money to be made on minimum investing.

I get your point with the Rosecroft speed. Speaks to the fact that you don't necessarily need big handles to hit something decent.
I will say in addition though, that any track and/or race you can eliminate the chalk, the chances are there.

I've watched one card of Rosecroft this year -- it looks like The Meadows style of racing but under lights.

Race the first 1/8th

Everyone gets a hole

breather

start the flow down the backside to the 3/4 pole

No. Longer than a mile I can see. Shorter, no.

That would be a short run to the first turn if 5/8!

Exactly how they race at Miami Valley, Scioto, and Dayton too—with natural sunlight and under the lights too!

How about 1/4 mile dash at the Meadowlands AND NO WHIPS ALLOWED!

That would be a site!
