Going for the same money for over 12 years now. Excelsior series 15K C series $6800.
The A division gets cut down, sometimes going for as little as 33K. Big stables to compete against.
Compared to all other jurisdictions is the least financial rewarding.

Whete else do u recommend

I have saying this for years. The scope of the NYS Sire Stakes is to promote and reward breeders and owners and horsemen for breeding and racing in NY State.
I have long contested the basic scope of this program has been undermined by the power of the overnight racing interest.
By increasing the % of slot revenue to the NYSS and HH Breeders by 100% it would give the greatest chance for financial success to the group the legislation was written for; the benefit of state agriculture and horse breeders and owners by, racing in restricted events.
Clearly, as the number of foals bred in the past years has been flat if not decreasing, it is evident the program has run afoul.
If you watch Yonkers Raceway now or before the pandemic, you will see on average 3 horses in an 8 horse field were not even bred or born in the USA, let alone New York. And, in the hire classes, it is not uncommon to see 5 or more bred and raised outside of New York.
So, who is the greatest benefactor of this NY State tax payer funded program? Australia, New Zealand and late to the party is England and Ireland.
With the devastation of Covid and casino closures, now is the time to revisit these dysfunctional agreements if there is to be any future in breeding and racing in New York.

nice NYSS leg purses with huge finals

The huge finals are no different then any other state finals with a slot program?
The exporter is correct and to expand on the biggest issue for NY racing at least on the trotting side is all the half mile racing. There are a number of legs on the half and I'm sure the horses training down are majority over a half. Not only injuries but you have a sire like Credit Winner who throws striking individuals like him are big animals. That half mile pounding takes a toll over time especially on those yearlings when most have 5 or 6 months training before they even turn 2.

NY bred yearlings are gonna be down significantly this sales season
-
Top commercial studs are going to get nice mares and no doubt will have every chance to throw nice horses and Ch 7 has thrown those four but he isn't listed on the stallion registration on USTA for more detail. Ch 7 does throw a lot of small horses which in theory give a better chance to race on the half unlike Credit Winners. Who also has thrown some nice horses over time.

Casinos still closed with less than 1% positive covid 19 tests for 13 days in a row. Zero $$$ going into the SS pot. Who knows when Gov Crappo opens? Purses taking big hit. NY yearlings will be off 50%. If that.. We will know soon with Goshen sale in 3 weeks.

i think cuomo is gonna defund the horse racing

Wednesday just one covid death in the state of NY. What are the NY requirements to get things back up and going?
-
In March it was the unheard of number of 1%. Now it is excuses. Crappo is a control freak. Loves to go through his”today I will allow this or that to open”. To get into the backstretch of the local track they take your temp. Good thing, however, since they started in Feb there has not been one person denied access due to a high temp. No one......

IF YOU ARE RACING IN OHIO OR PENNSYLVANIA THIS FALL IS GOING TO BE A GREAT TIME TO BUY HORSES. NEW YORK BREDS CAN STILL RACE IN OTHER STATES. A GOOD HORSE IS STILL A GOOD HORSE.

. A GOOD HORSE IS STILL A GOOD HORSE.
That is really profound. Thank you.

A good horse can come from anywhere.
That is really profound. Thank you.

What's with the 19.90 starting fee for those races? Did someone shrewdly negotiate them down from 20?
The owner of each horse has to pay the drug testing for each race, the state no longer pays drug testing.

Yes you can race in Ohio and Pennsylvania, if they accept the entry . Most of PA. races are PA. preferred (BRED , OWNED). Many at Ohio are for Ohio bred. Good luck waiting week after week hoping to get in.
