Rising Costs
« on: April 11, 2022, 09:21:23 AM »
https://harnessracingupdate.com/2022/04/09/rising-costs-are-worrisome-for-racing-business/

This article couldn’t be more true. Still have all the bad trainers who are not good enough to have people pay them training bills that take horses on 50/50 deals and they all wonder why they are broke and owe the world. Costs going up, purses going down, trainers still working for same 50%. Idiots.
With Love,

100% correct, just like most businesses
purses especially regional stakes will need to increase for 2023
for the blueblood owners it is no big deal, they don't do this for the money anyway
but for owners and trainers who need to turn a profit or at least break even to stay in the game this will be hard hitting
and coming at a time when wagering will be challenged to stay flat based on all the new and  growing sports betting becoming available

Your welfare payments are already set.

Please don't cry about it.

You sound like the starving kid from Oliver Twist, begging,  "May I have more?"

It's embarrassing.

Please no crying.

glad you two found harness racing
clearly you have limited to no business sense
and yes getting out of the business will be  an option for many(especially smaller owners/trainers if things don't improve...i guess that is your solution ...BRILLIANT!!
once out of the business there trainers/grooms can go on unemployment and get paid  by the state to do nothing...BRILLIA NT!!

Brown Jug one claims of owning harness horses but has never given the names of any other then a share here or there. The other well had a inheritance to blow which is his obligation to do so. Those struggling don't need to hear from those with a 2.0m backstop.

Not sure they need to go on unemployment since it’s been since 1968 when unemployment has been this low.

whats business cents

you either have extra money to blow on a hobby or you dont,,

..
tryin to make money
buying horses should never be  a thought...

nobody makes money in racing maybe a few ,,

just a limited few ,,,

and giving horses to trainers on DEALS ..never works,,

Collect unemployment? Only if you were on the books.
