You got it Hawthorne went broke and won't be able to fund a casino. Now that the Grandstand side is all torn up and no further updates. You can say that Hawthorne days are numbered for horse racing.

Let's hope the Carey's sell the land and finally put an end to Illinois racing. We had excellent racing in the past in Illinois - both harness and runners - it's now become disgraceful - just end it all and let us have the good memories....

The entire Chicago racing situation is dire at best. It will require an act of God to help from here!

As Frank Calabrese said who in their right mind would put or go to a casino in that area.
