BY ALLOWING HORSEMEN TO COME AND GO FROM RACE TRACKS TO CONDUCT RACING EVENTS, THEY ARE ACTING AS AN AGENT IN SPREADING THE DISEASE.

THE WHOLE GOAL IS TO KEEP FROM SPREADING THE VIRUS, AND THEY ARE TAKING NO STEPS TO DO SO.

IF THEY INSIST ON RACING... STEPS MUST BE TAKEN... THEY INCLUDE...

HORSEMEN SHOULD BE QUARANTEED AT THE RACETRACK FACILITY THEY RACE AT.

NO INS AND OUTS, NO COMINGS AND GOINGS, THIS INCLUDES ALL PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE BROADCASTS, OR THE RACES .LIKE JUDGES, AND CHARTERS, ANNOUNCERS AND VETS  THEY SHOULD HAVE TO RIDE THIS STORM OUT IN PLACE.  YOU PUT THE PUBLIC IN DANGER, EVERYTIME YOU TRAVEL

SO GREEDY, THAT THEY HAVE TO RACE WHILE A MAJORITY OF THE COUNTRY IS ON LOCKDOWN. IT SHOWS THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC.

THE WORST OF THIS VIRUS SCENARIO HASNT EVEN BEGUN TO FESTER.. IT IS COMING. DONT BE YOUR NORMAL ARROGANT, ABOVE THE FREY SELVES.  DO WHAT A MAJORITY OF THE REST OF THE PUBLIC DOES.

STAY THE FUCK HOME

We all know you think you are the leader of the world, but your not. But you can yell and scream and cuss and call people names all you want.

If they are not breaking any laws they should be able to race.

The CDC recommends canceling all events with 50 or more people in 1 room.

The CDC's recommendation does not apply to "day to day operations of organizations such as schools, institutes of higher learning or businesses."

A partial statement from Woodbine......

“We strongly believe that closing our racetracks to the public is the right thing to do for the wellbeing of our employees, customers and horsepeople,” said Jim Lawson, CEO of Woodbine Entertainment. “We also recognize that we all have a role to play in slowing down the spread of this virus to protect the larger community. We will continue to work closely with public health officials and make decisions that are consistent with health and safety being our highest priority.”
The decision to close these facilities follows the recommendation of Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Williams for the suspension of all large events and public gatherings due to Covid-19.
Woodbine Entertainment’s live harness racing at Mohawk Park will continue as scheduled but without spectators and only essential staff, licensed horsepeople and regulators permitted in the facility. As an additional precaution, Woodbine Entertainment is screening all horsepeople entering the paddock, which will also have highly restricted access for licensed personnel only.

What a load of uneducated Bullshit .
Lets get real here.
1) The Corona Virus-is by far the most dangerous for OLD PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS.
Children and younger people can catch it and not even know they have it. Most people under the age of 60 have mild to non existent symptoms.
2) John Brennan died -yes-from Corona-BUT he was 69 years old and very unhealthy-obese,high blood pressure,emphysema,diabetes-not exactly a prime candidate to fight off ANYTHING that affects the respiratory system.
3) THE PUBLIC--does not make contact with anyone inside the paddock where the horses are getting ready--ie all the public in the Casino-are  200 yards from the paddock-and last time I checked-the Public watching at home cannot get Corona from watching their TV.
4) After a two week quarantine period racing should continue under guidelines.
Those inside the paddock should be made to stay 6 feet away from each other-and have their temperature taken before entering the paddock. Anyone who is feeling sick obviously should stay away=and no visitors allowed only minimal people required to run racing. Antiseptic hand dispensers should be placed around the paddock-and the place fumigated after each meeting(very easy to do) Security instead of just standing around-should be made to rub down water taps ,door knobs-ie places where people touch. Staff that have to come in close contact with horsemen-should wear a mask.
5) ALL staff at Yonkers have shortly been in isolation for two weeks and no signs of sickness--so they will not infect anyone. They are good to go to work with the above restrictions.

Follow the above--and the Public is at an extremely low risk from any horsemen.

Your #1 is total BULLSHIT!

Fact: Two very healthy healthcare workers, one a doctor and one a nurse contracted Covid-19 at the same hospital.

The nurse showed mild symptoms within 7 days, was hospitalized herself after 2 weeks, near death before a sudden turnaround after 36 days in the ICU. Tested positive 4 days after symptoms ended finally clear 7 days later.

The doctor tested negative 3 times after showing symptoms. 9 days after symptoms began finally tested positive. After 3 weeks of mild symptoms was thought to be clear and ready to return to work. For reasons unknown had a sudden relapse where symptoms rapidly got worse. Died 1 and 1/2 days after this turnaround.

This comparison of two otherwise normally healthy people who contracted Covid-19 at the same time in the same place and their completely different reactions and outcomes was chronicled in the New York Times.

So everybody needs to be very careful about spreading misinformation about Covid-19. The truth is Covid-19 is still in it's infancy and what we know about how each individual will react to contracting Covid-19 is in flux.

The safest response is to assume the worst case scenario until we have more facts to support lower our concerns.

If everyone stops working and shuts down the entire economy, who the fuck is going to pay you losers on welfare?  You'll starve to death by a week Friday.

I also helped ship out 100 loads of groceries to stores today.
Would you like me to stay home.
Shit, we've seen how people fight over toilet paper.
Could you imagine if there were no cheerios.    It would be fucking mayhem.
Neighbours would be robbing neighbours.
The gangs would be out of the hood and invading your homes.

"YOU DRIVE A FORKLITFT?"

Maybe.    Maybe a counter balance.
Warehouse workers are about to become the new heroes in this war.
Supply chain dies, so will lots of people.

What about 1st responders and health care professionals they go home after work and they have a higher chance of spreading it. Not just people racing  to make a living and pay the Bills. Alot of tracks are taking precautions.

Comments like those from the idiot above show just how stupid the crowd that makes up the paddock at a harness track.

The idea is to stop the spread, period.  Every time you gather the risk grows... if one of you catches the virus and kills a family member, it is NO BIG LOSS,
WE NEED TO KEEP THE SPREAD TO A MINIMUM. SO WE DONT KILL SOMEBODY IMPORTANT,

HARNESS HORSEMEN COME ACROSS AS GREEDY ANTI AMERICAN ASSHOLES, CONCERNED ABOUT ONLY 1 THING

Not saying this is not a serious issue, but before you put a gun to your head because the end of the world is near, let keep it in prospective. The chance of you getting the virus, at this time, is 14 in 1 million (this is for the US). Then, if you do get it, the death rate of that percent is about 3%. To date 87 people died, over the last 16 days approximately. I am sure these numbers are going to tick up quite a bit more, but can we calm down! 90 PEOPLE A DAY DIE IN CAR ACCIDENTS IN THE US. More dangerous driving to the track then attending it. Want to save lives, outlaw driving.  Lets keep this in perspective. Yes more will die. Plenty die every year from the common flu also. So you all can stop buying all the damn toilet paper! My horse is pissed I am using his hay to wipe my ass!

If the USA can keep things below  17,000 cornavirus hospitalizations per week nationally, things will stay in control infrastructure wise.
Keep your eye on that statistic !!
