A source at The Meadowlands has told Harnesslink that harness racing trainer Nick Surick has been suspended indefintly by the New Jersey Racing Commission from the Meadowlands and Feehold Raceway.
Seven of his horses were just scratched from tonights racecard at The Meadowlands. They were;
Race 1 - Idle Bones N
Race 4 - Mac's Secure
Race 5 - Hepburn Hanover
Race 5 - Livingthedream
Race 6 - JK Parlay
Race 9 - American Image
Race 10 - Abbeylara

wow I haven’t seen them use a ruling like the since the 70’s when judges actually punished people. Essentially there is or at least used to be a clause where a track can deem you undesirable and just throw you out. And that ruling sounds like an avenue towards undesirable. I don’t know or care about Surick I’m just surprised someone with balls made a ruling.

I agree with your comment about the Buisness going to shit but I was told that he got multiple Dex positives u have to look into it more but he either had 2 on the same day same track or the horse came up positive in back to back starts but like I said I’m not gonna tell ya I’m exactly right but it was something to that affect he races multiple horses in the same race so it could’ve been wanna them deals he finished first and second and both went to the spit box and both came up positive maybe someone could clear this up for us But it was 100% Dex and 100% more than one

Surick has been a Gural Rat/Shill for years.
Gural had use for him while Meadowlands was going nowhere.
Now, with sports wagering in, industry subsidies moving forward and a far greater likelihood of expanded gambling in the state, Gural has no use for Surick.
You can see Gural softening his "rules" and moving toward more traditional relationships with drivers, trainers, owners, etc...

Since when does the NJ Racing Commission do "out of competition testing" on anything besides racehorses? This sounds a little strange and ol nicky isn't telling us something.

If the horse was unavailable or Surick failed to cooperate then---Hes done for a year --read the rules.
Penalties for non-cooperation.
(a) Willful failure to make a horse available for sampling or other willfully deceptive acts or interference in the sampling process shall carry a minimum penalty of a one-year license suspension and referral to the commission in addition to any other authorized penalties.
(b) A selected horse that is not made available for out-of-competition sampling shall be placed on the Steward’s List. The horse shall remain on the Steward’s List for a minimum of 180 days unless the owner can establish extraordinary mitigating circumstances.
(c) A selected horse that is presumed eligible for out-of-competition testing shall be placed on the Steward’s list and be ineligible to race in the jurisdiction for 180 days if the horse is not sampled because the trainer, owner or their designee asserts that the horse is not engaged in activities related to competing in horse racing in the jurisdiction. This restriction shall not apply if the trainer, owner or their designee instead permits voluntarily an immediate collection of such samples from the horse.
