My first trainer ten years ago. More so a new friend came out of that relationship. We spoke more hockey and Blackhawks when we talked more so how the horses where doing. Always said the worse spot driving on the track was sitting third. Always heard the stories of his driving days at Sportsman Park. If Doug was ever in that 3rd spot and there was a sliver of a chance to get out he was getting out. What I will remember most is he always had time to shoot the shit over more then just horses. A very good and underrated trotting trainer and will be missed. RIP Doug

Gutsy Osborne, Heal B Flashy, Heal B Fantastic, How Bout It, Mississippi Mud, and so many others. If memory serves, the first time he drove Direct Shooter, he set the track record at Immoral.

   RIP Doug

HE WAS A GOOD TRAINER BUT SO SO DRIVER IN MY OPINION. WELL LIKED GUY WHO LIKED THE JACK DANIELS AND MOLSON. R I P NITE STRIKE, GREAT EXPECTATION, AND OSBORNES FIRST. HIS BIG OWNER IN OHIO WAS JERRY OSBORNE FROM MENTOR, OHIO.

THEY RUINED ILLINOIS HARNESS RACING, YEP THE JOHNSONS, LANGLEY AND DUNCAN PRICE,

He gave me Osbornes First when he set the track record at Balmoral Park.

The best pure trainer in Illinois racing history he didn't need the juice.

Dougie had one of the fastest closing mares in Chicago, Flying Speed was just brutal on a big track. RIP Doug.
