Harness Racing / Re: Brian Sears« Last post by Grandstand Handicapper on Today at 07:15:04 PM »I am viscerally and unconditionally opposed to any physical or violence-based action taken against women...and Brian Sears is no angel or even parishioner for that matter. And I won't use the word "however" ---- because this is not an excuse or defense in any way, shape, or form to what he did.....so.....th is incident was 5 years ago. The case has come and gone. It occured at a place many of us know (meaning horsemen hang out there, and it's owned by a former horseman, from a big horsemen's family). Still no excuse whatsoever, but this was not a simple assault case. There is a lot more to the story and regardless of what more is, it is still no excuse. Bringing it up though after 5 years? That's just making it personal. There are people here who don't like Sears, and people here who don't like Sears because of his girlfriend. I doubt a lot of those people actually know him. Like I said, he's no angel, but it's still personal.
