Yonkers Raceway will be moving by the end of 2022.
And definitely not on Long Island.

in the meantime, here is tonight's program for Yonker  Raceway

Leave everything up to Uncle Joe and things will be just fine

Not folly.... the article is 18 months old but the high level discussions continue

It makes perfect sense.... both Aqueduct and Yonkers land is worth  considerably more if they were demolished and replaced with casinos/restaurants/shopping/condos. Belmont to be winterized and outfitted for year round tbred and night harness.. and they add lights for main oval for night times when Yonkers not running. It complimentary to Mega complex in Elmont with soccer stadium, Islanders, etc

It’s certainly NOT folly..... it’s logical

It is only logical to a harness person. Why would NYRA, with a world of challenges and problems of their own, invest millions in a sunken ship? Where is the up-side for the entity that operates the facility?

not sure what you are referring to

NYRA sells Aqueducts land and pockets hundreds of millions and need to invest some very small fraction of that to winterize and rig the training track for harness one mile oval at Belmont

totally agree.... but if yonkers racing lives on long term , it will happnin at Belmont

of course nobody wants tracks... that’s why there is talk of imploding both Aquaduck and Yonkers and shoe horn all into the blossoming Elmont complex

that gets rid of two tracks and they obviously expand their existing sites to full blown casinos with card games and craps

You should start your own Indian Tribe and take over Yonkers as a stand-alone casino.

think again

they have a one mile training track adjacent to the monster oval... and NYRA must have two turf courses at each venue or they won’t fill races

nobody wants anything to do with three or four turn racing

time to start thinking forward

New York State owns Aqueduct and   Belmont Park. NYRA leases the property with a franchise to operate racing. It has no ability to sell property.

OK then the state pockets hundreds of millions and they spend a few shekels to outfit Belmont for harness

same scenario

Sure, sure.

I owned 1/3 of a cheap stable years ago and you act like it's not possible cause I'm black or didn't inherit money.  Child, please.

You also act like it's a big fucking lie that I own a few little bits of some these days. As if it's a big fucking accomplishment or some shit.

The Vineyard has a new 3x a week $10/$20 Limit Hold 'Em game at Calhoun's.  At this point some guys are bored being away from the track and casinos and , some of them away from their regular side pieces.

Calhoun not cleaning up but more than holding my own.

My kids are great.

I lived the race track backside life for 6 months when i was 15 year old.  It was fun but not for me.  If you think it's the greatest thing ever since it's what you do, then you are very lucky.

I hope your daughter's injuries are healing and that she either has made or will make a full recovery.
