Title: Lets thin the herd this weekend
Post by: Atthetrack7 on September 04, 2018, 08:33:09 AM
This week in the 3yo colt pacing division

The Simcoe steaks at Mohack
The Jug Preview at Scioto.. they also have a Sires steak final for O breds (lather Up)
The Liberty Bell at Harrah's Philthy

Call it spread the wealth weekend, or is it spread the fertilizer?
The Jug being on Thursday, fucks everything up and being out there in flyover country Ohio, They need to move it to a Saturday, and put it at a REAL racetrack so the real horsemen don't have to ship all the fuck all over. Make the Midwest hill fuckn billies do the shippin, they all got tractors and most live in trailers anyway

ACTUALLY IT IS SMART TO HOLD IT ON A THURSDAY,

IT KEEPS YOU NEW YORK AND OTHER LEAST COAST IDIOTS FROM MAKING IT WHERE YOU ARE NOT WANTED.  STAY THE FUCK HOME

Last I looked, most people, in EVERY STATE, work on Thursdays, but are off on Saturdays.
Try again.

ACCORDING TO MOST ON HERE, PEOPLE FROM THE MIDWEST ARE ALL FARMERS, AND THEY PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN TO WORK.
LOVE IT ON THURSDAY, DONT CHANGE WHAT ISNT BUSTED.  STILL THE GREATEST DAY, WITH THE LARGEST CROWD OF ANY DAY IN HARNESS RACING, AT ONE OF THE GREATEST FACILITIES THE SPORT HAS TO OFFER.

I HAVE FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS SCHEDULED MY VACATION TO INCLUDE JUG WEEK IN OHIO.  GREAT PLACE TO CHILL OUT, SEE OLD FRIENDS IN A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. AND THE BYOB EFFECT IS A HUGE PLUS

Ohio has one of the highest opiate OD rates in the country. A lot of them aren't working.

Keep it on Thursday, airplane tickets are cheaper, so are hotel rooms, midweek as opposed to weekends

Have any of you heard of college football. One you couldn't get airtime on Saturday, and if you found an obscure channel no one would watch. And any way where else do you get 25 to 40 thousand people to come to the races. Have you been to the Meadowlands or Pocono lately. The world doesnt revolve around the east coast and that is the first place harness racing is going to die. Ohio is where it developed and Ohio will be the last state standing.

Quit your bitching.  Stay home if you don't like it.

Scioto Downs has been promoting their Brown Jug Preview race(s) this Saturday, September 8.  There was also mention of some horses slated to enter in the most recent edition of Horseman and Fair World.  The overnight sheets posted on USTA do not list the race as being part of the card.

Anyone know what's going on?
