Good payoffs tmbz1
-
Nice prices
-
Payouts good, but the survivor I will hit one day. Can’t hit a double but a pick 8 I will eventually. Betting is limited to Ohio, Mohawk my fav, Florida, and The Meadowlands this time of the year. Hoosier and Hawthorne coming up soon.

Great idea. Makes for a lot of churn

Rare move by the big m administrators that I'm liking. tmbz1

horrible bet,payoffs are God awful

The only way this change is a success is if it draws more money than the pk3's.
Snapshot of tonight: The Daily Double pools in order
$23,306
$6,522
$10,716
$11,947
$10,230
So obviously the first DD is still the same as the old format.
The new DD's are not drawing more money than the pk3"s and in some cases less.
The old pk3's use to average $8,000 to $12,000 per pool.
The new DD's are falling into the same range.
At least for tonight they are averaging the same.
So to me it was useless. No t-bred player is gonna stoop to playing harness DD's for these poor pools.

People who would rather bet a pic 3 over a daily double are not too bright. Take out on daily doubles is 19% while the take out on a pic 3 is 25%.
So if the handle is the same, and the goof above me posts it is, why try to pic 3 winners when 2 is so much easier?
But most gamblers are not the sharpest tools in the shed and prove it by opening their mouth

Sorry to burst your bubble Einstein but focusing only on take out is why you fools are failures.
In another thread I posted the press release from the Meadowlands with their logic behind the changes.
Claiming the rolling DD was a popular bet with the T-breds was a primary reason given for the change.
Clearly the opening DD pool hasn't changed since the new format has taken effect.
The clueless thought they could carry forward those higher pools by replacing the pk3's with a DD.
A stupid idea to say the least.
Compounding that stupidity was thinking T-bred players might cross over and play harness DD's.
Won't happen!
Harness players rejected rolling DD pools because of the constant low payouts.
Chalk DD's paying $4.00 or less don't attract new money or new players regardless of the takeout.
The fact that you and these other idiots don't get this reality is why you should never be able to operate a racetrack.
Why would a guy who is just a gambler not a dedicated horse racing player bet into your stupid rolling DD pools because you have a lower takeout?
That guy isn't interested in your takeout he's concerned about his risk vs. reward and what mitigating factors he has control over. That guy is headed to a casino or betting on sports.....not your rolling DD's.
The value of the PK3 vs. Rolling DD's is only in the higher payouts that a new player sees on the tote board.
New Horse racing players are looking for those larger payouts for a small wager.
And it doesn't take that new player very long to figure out harness racing is not where it's at.
If you don't attract a new younger generation to horse racing then your obsession with takeout will get buried with your industry.

With thoughts like that from swoodall, no wonder he is a big loser.. slow and steady wins the race, always has, always will

One other small point for the marketing know nothings.
This conversation was had months ago when the clueless attacked me for slamming the stupidity of defending a $1 DD payout that was $1.78 in a DD pool at Dayton, I believe, that had less than $800 in the total pool.
The clueless defended this return because they focused on the ROI.
Of course this pool can't support a player making a large bet to make it worth it to play that particular DD.
And I said the average harness player isn't interested in playing that strong of a chalk DD.
Which is exactly what will happen when the big barns return to the Meadowlands with multiple entries in each race.
Smaller fields, lower payouts and cheating are killing the chances of attracting new players.
Not your takeout.
Every sunken ship had a captain who thought he knew what he was doing.
Even the Titanic. tmbz1

great bet, payoffs are way over what they should be
-
I've played a few and thought the payoffs on my horses were more than fair. Theyve been pounding odds on horses. I like that; generally I'll play a longshot with a few live horses.
The last double in the 13 and 14 was generous. The chalk was pounded in the last.
The 7 in the 13th paid $4.40 and the 6 in the last $16.40.
I'd be happy if I hit that with the return.
I would think @ $45 to $50 should be the return there.
If you want to play doubles you can't wager on two chalks and you have to watch the probables and play one or two DD late.
-
Double paid $64.80.

I made my first post with the pools before the races were over, that was a decent double.
But everyone is used to playing a DD in the first two and last two races.
These guys are intentionally focusing on the takeout and avoiding addressing the reasons the Meadowlands gave for making the change in format.
They churn and burn....slow and steady decline....6% slower due to the lower takeout. ngc3

Hey! I have a great idea!
Why don't we let the worst cheaters harness racing has ever known decide on how to attract the gamblers back? angbk
If those new DD pools can average $10,000, the Einsteins like you will have an extra $600 to share with the lower takeout.
If you clowns think an extra $600 divided among the winning tickets under this new format is going to attract T-Bred players, new players or additional wagering money then you lost your friggin minds. angbk

Thanks Darin
One of the few intelligent things u have ever said
Really?
19% vs 25% is going to add anywhere from an extra $390 to $720 in the DD pools using tonight's numbers.
You have lost the big picture.

You are the master of low expectations! angbk
Continuous use of that Volcano Vaporizer has you believing a lower takeout adding an extra $600 into the pool is going to make a difference on where gamblers are going to wager their money.
My original point was T-Bred players will laugh in the face of any harness racing executive who tries to convince them this new format is a good deal. ngc3 ngc3
Blaming takeout for small pool sizes is an excuse that won't change a damn thing. angbk
