Surick supposedly refused to enter any horses over a dispute about a horse of his that was claimed.
Hope Freehold doesn't cave as one more week and Thursday cards are done. Surick's owners won't want their horses sitting in the barn and most of his can only race at Freehold.
99% of horseman can't stand him and will sooner see him gone.

Just talked to Mike Faglirone , Karen said she tried up to 3 pm to fill the card she had 7 races but that the SBOA said no to racing that few amount of races so a president would not be set . So no card Friday instead

Douche bag did not have 12-14 horses for the Friday card to fill 2 races . He may think he’s Freehold but he’s not . Penn gaming is about 40 billion bigger than Nick the douche bag

It takes the racing community a little time to make adjustments! If Surick were not to race there several things would happen, all good! Other horsemen would begin to drop in due to the fact that that they don't have to race against expensive Surick horses that are under achieving and written into classes to fill the card! Surick would have to put up or shut up! Without the Freehold walk overs
his record would turn abysmal, after all he's an absolute joke any where else!
History has shown that horseman will gravitate toward opportunity, however at Freehold, it doesn't exist! Management would have to bite the bullet for a week or so but the rewards of not having to kowtow to certain individuals will produce rewrds!

Race secretaries usually do a good job but they can make mistakes. One of your jobs as a trainer is to check the sheet to make sure your horses are where they are supposed to be. No excuses.

I want to thank them for closing, too bad it isn't permanent. Should not be racing on the same day as the Real New Jersey track is going, on Fryday and Sataday only the big 2 should be racing, and that other track is Yonker, Mohawk should be stopped at the border, that new NAFTA, UsMc or whatever should have put the end to that

They have a policy that says that horses that race at Freehold get preference so you can't get outside or horses in so naturally they are going to run out of horses without a fresh influx of horses

There was an article recently that had the NJ SBOA asking trainers to respond back to the state of New Jersey asking how the extra money given to the horsemen is working towards helping improve the industry. Now this nonsense a week or two later from that article being published should be all the state needs. The state shouldn’t fund racing with property taxes, gas tax and a rising deficit. The people who run racing along with many trainers just don’t know how to run a business. This is an entertainment business and it can’t be more boring to watch. You need a face of the sport, a person or horse that the public can gravitate towards and they don’t have it. It used to be Dancer, Haughton, Herve and Campbell. Niatross, Mack Lobell, Artsplace, hell even Somebeachsomewher e was fun to watch. Today it’s a bunch of guys and beards, with few horses that flash one week then go cold the next.

Any good trainer knows that the path to the winners circle begins with interpreting the condition sheet! The topic is whether he has the right to extort Freehold and if they have the balls

There are more conversations, communications, and others that will now come out as Nick the rat will likely be targeted to turn on the other trainers knowing he has been a rat for years.
I hear all sorts of horsemen are having one heck of a lunch feeling they can come back or at least have a fair chance at Freehold now. And trust me, mgmt is glad to see him gone as whatever horses don't return from Surick, others who left because of him will return. And hopefully, Bobby Blum will get his job back.
Oh, and if you think this is over and a certain family of trainer and driver whose dad likely call these guy amateurs isn't being looked at, I got a bridge for sale, cheap.
P.S. Not having to see that POS run down to the winner's circle, gloating and making like he's on the phone knowing he cheated is nice to know. And a certain mom won't be able to get in the front seat with the FBI agents to help her boy.
Karma finally showed and the wait was now worth it!!!!

None of the names were a surprise to anyone. Or shouldn't have been. Probably just the tip of the iceberg. Heads will roll. Only question is whose and when. I'm hoping the feds will give one or two crooks immunity for flipping the others.
As an aside, after observing racing on both sides of the border since the mid 1960's and knowing dozens of trainers personally, I am confident that 98% of trainers are hard working honest individuals. There are things one can do to enhance performance or darken form that are perfectly legal. It is a game. Everyone wants an edge. But the 27 who were just indicted make the Houston Astros look like choir boys.
