I have a lot to learn. Why was there no Show Betting in the race ?
-
Because the 1 was a lock to hit the board, Yonker did not want to lose money on a negative show pool

Thank you, I did not know. When do they decide to not allow Show Betting? I mean is it when they print up the program or like fifteen minutes before the race starts? Wonder why they don't try and have more competitive races and not where in a race they have such a "monster" that will destroy the field? And if they do know that one entry is so much more better, at least assign it the outside post. Thanks agin for the lesson. I am learning.

Its done before program printed. Most track use same formula.. 5 horses or less no show. 85 or less no show.. unless there is someone paying attention and looking for certain races. You dont have to be host track if your building wants to bar show wagering

Most harness tracks can't afford to pay out on bridge jumpers anymore. Theyre already in the red. Covering 5% on a $50,000 show bet is enough to send some of them over the edge. And its not like they get to keep the 50,000 if the bettor loses. Too much risk

Nobody bets show, not even a discussion..worry about exacta n triple
-
the manager did.
I always made show bets when i was 8 years old and started betting harness.. tmbz1

I still make them at age 68.

My first bet ever was a $5 show bet on an entry at Sportsmans Park.
Worst luck one can ever have is winning first bet.
I subsequently argued with the teller that they had made a mistake when I was handed $5.50 back as a winner.
