First crop sires: Captain Crunch and Courtly Choice
« on: June 29, 2023, 12:14:26 AM »
So far they are NOT overwhelming yet on the racetrack.  Any opinions on how they have looked in training down?

Don't know anything about training down but I can tell you this

Captain Crunch has 103 registered North American foals.  4 have taken marks which is way below average for that many foals. I don't know who controls his syndicate or what kind of mares he got but I'm sure they are not happy at this point

Courtly Choice from 49 foals has 6 that have taken marks which is right in the middle of average.
Don't think any of them have shown extreme speed yet but McIntosh probably has a couple with it.  Being a son of Art Major I don't think that much is expected of him anyway.
