maine purses
« on: March 09, 2022, 12:50:22 PM »
saw purses are going up in my home state. 7 percent. while good start it seems low. not being up there right now i only know what was written. casino money is up. so i get the increase. dates are down by quite a bit. just wondering where that purse money went. id think the increase would be closer to 20 percent.

we can race twice a week. That's a 100% increase.

yes its great maine will race this year. im just a guy good with numbers. reports of great handle and great slot revenue plus less dates should mean a hefty increase in purses. all horsemen everywhere should be paying attention to purse accounts. when i get home to maine id like to think we are racing for the biggest amount possible and that some is not being skimmed off for some other project.  its costing a lot more to live and race now.

I would not call $50,000 to maybe $75,000 great considering that almost all is off track with literally no live handle.

i agree. not much of the usta note on the purse increase did to me. i hope we can get another increase in the summer at least. going to be expensive trip north this year. expensive to ship to race.

Starting in May between Cumb, Bangor, and the Ridge, 7 days of racing a week.  Lots of opportunities for horses and drivers. And with covid easing, SHOULD BE A FUN YEAR. GOOD LUCK TO ALL
