why? why not race....is he really that attractive given all the other horses out there from the past decade
-
He's a nothing horse. He quits if he gets looked in the eye.
-
New York farm paid 2.5 for him
Indy farm offered 1.5.

OUCH, I feel sorry for Tom if that's true. Can't see him getting more than 60-70 mares.

Confederate will be announced soon to stand in PA for 20 thousand a pop
-
Blue Chip is apparently partners with Diamond Creek on this one. After he finishes out his 3yr. old career he'll be syndicated, then stands for $6K in New York, where they will now allow shipped semen. His win in the Jug proves he can handle a half, so NY was a logical choice.
-
1500k stud fee??
-
He wasn't a factor in the big races, hasn't even made a million dollars which is the benchmark for stallions. He won't last as a stallion ranks, he's just the flavor of the week.
-
very nice horse
has showed his speed
strong pedigree
so he couldn't beat confederate, nobody could
a different drive/trip in the jug finals and he is top 2 for sure
-
I don't find him particularly impressive but there is really nothing saying he won't make a better sire than anyone else, including Confederate. Not always the best performer that makes the best sire.
-
He has a great pedigree and did well on the 1/2 He will get 140 mares off the bat. If you don’t think so then look at his competitors there. Huntsville is best ATM

Good call. That state is not pacer-strong.

Shipped semen is really going to improve the sire stake program in NY. Now you don't have to ship a mare and a two-week-old foal to NY to get bred to a local stallion.

I think Huntsville is so extraordinary that he is making real good sires look average. I still think American Ideal is damn good and probably underrated.

I will take your word for it. I am not as up to date on the pacing sires as trotters, and not super in tune with NY in general. I've seen good Huntsvilles outside of NY; good American Ideal fillies outside of NY; and not much else from a pacing perspective. There is so much $$ in NY though, you don't need to leave the state to do well so I am sure there are some real killers that never reach the other states because there's no need.
