The Bongiorno family is a cancer to the sport. Between gassing up their horses, Joe's amateurish gyrations, to their general untrustworthiness, they are terrible for harness racing.

Daddy B had his money down and Joe had the get the win at all costs so he overdrove him until he got so tired that he collapsed. Watch the race. Joe humping the Bike and all over the horse to go on both sides. Joe did not want to be yelled at by Daddy B. Someone needs to get film of some of their fights. I hear the whole farm can hear the yelling.

He was rough from the start. Watch the replay. Lame horses go just as fast until the pain masking agent wears off.
tmbz1. I saw what you saw. Those that didn't are clueless. And...others have treated bad feet in the past...and horse was NEVER started until it was proven he was 100%. Horse was nodding the whole trip...sore.

Anyone who has been a driver will tell you that that drive would have gotten you called in to see the judges in the old days. Other drivers do not want to be out there with some clown throwing the lines at a horse and beating him at the end of a mile.....totally clueless and classless with no regard for either the other drivers OR the poor frickin horse.
In fact I saw a judge take away a guys qualifying license for less, and told him that he would do everything in his power to keep that guy from ever getting his license.
The Bongiorno lad has improved greatly since he first started, however driving like that will get him, other drivers and horses injured....it just did.
I drove in less than 1000 races, but I was around the best drivers and not a one of them would drive a horse like that
under any circumstance..... .disgraceful

Okay first of all it was Andrew not Todd. Second of all I have watched the replay more times than I would like to have but to me it looks like the horse took a bad step. It's defiantly not the first to take a bad step & go down, surely won't be the last. They were pacing at the wire & it cold have been a lot worse. Just my opinion. I'm sorry to the connections of Incredible Shark. :(

It looked like the old days of turning for home at Lebanon with drivers throwing lines and bouncing off each other. Its embarrassing and shows a lack of understanding of how to properly and safely keep a tired horse going.

It would be entertaining. I really don't have a problem with the rocking and shucking and jiving in the bike. Everyone has their own thing. What bothers me is seeing these guys doing it even when you know their horse is in distress. Or, even worse, them not knowing enough to even suspect the horse is in trouble. Especially if I'm trapped in behind them.

I feel for the horse that had to be euthanized 🙏

I - sadly - watched this race. I have no knowledge of the horse that caused this, nor his trainer, so just commenting on what I do know.
Here's what I saw in the race:
- A horse on a "rolling down a hill" trajectory because as others have stated - and I saw with my own eyes - the lines were thrown at him
A horse that took a small stumble step, then dropped.
Another horse that had nothing to do with the first two events, who fell hard on his left hind area and looked doomed when he hit the track.
On this thread, I have seen a few times that "The horse has bad feet."
A lot of horses have "bad feet." There are definitely things you can do to help this. I am both hoping and assuming these things were done for this horse.
I am curious if anyone knows the state of the #9. I know he wasn't put down on the track; does anyone know his current status?
Final thoughts: While I am not certain the causing horse's "lameness" is to blame, there is no part of me that believes the JB stable is a clean, superior training operation.

Not a fair comparison. ABM was the devil running wild inside a horses body. Uncontrolled speed, he only needed three legs to carry him through a mile.
Might be the biggest freak of nature any of us will ever see. Poor horse, heart like Superman with legs like Forest Gump.

Someone needs to put Joe's ass in the bike and beat him coming down the stretch. Great driver's don't throw the lines at a horse when it's clearly giving it's all and for such an extended length. Joe, i don't know you, but driving a horse like that makes you look like a fool. If i remember right, I believe this horse broke near the finish in it's previous race. Do they still rule horse's off a track. Hope they drug tested him after race...

Alagna so he feels he does no wrong, like telling a kid to quit braking the rules but keep them unneeded stuff

Duh .. Only all stabled at Gaitway. All have trained or do train Crawford horses. Joey literally took over American History from Alagna late last year and has been driving for Burke for five years or so. Ownership is not connected if that is what you are implying but in every other way they are definitely connected.
