great place for a long time.

My most profound memory was when our buddy, fellow private card game player, and decent trot driver Charles "Chuck" E Connor Jr  AKA "The Rifleman" invited us to the track for a hopeful milestone win that day back in 1997.

We were told beforehand which race and who to bet and to be in the grandstand.  The drivers fixed the race, and it was already printed on the big sign, with his name and horse's name that won for the winner circle pic and congrats!   ;D

The worst memory, (missed opportunity) same friend and driver, he'd say hi to us at the bar before the races, and grab one of our programs and mark it up.  That night he won with a horse of nearly 200-1.  No mark up on the horse.  The pools were dead back then anyway.

During the next card game we followed up, he said up to the half the horse was a dead piece, then became a rocket lol straight to the finish line.  ;D

I used to go down to the Hardrock in Hollywood, Fl a few years ago and would visit Gulfstream and Pompano on my visits.  Totally different places, but had a nice time at both!  tmbz1

I feel like sooner or later the end is coming for all tracks. The voices of activist extremists are going to overpower the voices of decent people just trying to make a living. And if not that then greedy corporations wanting to flatten memories for new casino parking lots. The black smudge of the doping bullshit added with horse casualties in all venues of horse sports is going to be the death of the game. Just enjoying the ride while it lasts

2000 was there with a few friends we stayed at my sister's condo....had a big bag of blow called a cab to take us to the track..got in the driver had his pants unzipped halfway down his ass...didn't speak a fuxking single word of English tore out of the condo complex and never went below 70mph..the fucking car shook and back door was literally ready to fall off. We still laugh about that night to this day because that was only part of 1 of funnest day I can remember.
