Is it just me or did it appear that Ake (on #1 Ambassador Hanover) was intentionally gapping in the pocket so Yannick on #3 Johan Palema could get away from the field ??...The moment McCarthy pulled with #6 Ahundredollarbill the Ambassador suddenly found trot and was able to catch right up to Yannick and leave McCarthy parked...Might be a valid strategic move but it's a BS move from a gambler's stand point.

Lack of effort, at it's finest. The Swedish Meatball, Ake Svanstedt, had no intention of driving to win. Another perfect example of why entries should be mandatory. Anyone who bet the meatball to win, got a big FU from Yonkers. Yonker's stewards all deserve to be fired, if nothing done to the meatball.

Knew this thread was coming. I saw it the same way. Not the first time I've seen that from Ake. It's bullshit but I can't say it doesn't make sense from his point of view. Won't be penalized for it so why not.

perfectly driven for second, give him credit for doing it

after almost all leavers jumping in the sister race for 3 year old fillies, the trot for 3-year old fillies, great move by Dube leaving hard from the 2 post between Ake's horses, instead of driving for a check which he certainly would've gotten without jumping, what does the horse earn for finishing 6th and breaking stride?

Absolutely agree with the intentional gapping. Gotta say it was a shrewd move. Btw, did not bet race, no skin in the game. Will he be called in? Highly unlikely, and if he is, you will not hear about it.
