All things SCM
« on: January 30, 2024, 06:40:27 PM »
When will this idiot Petrelli stop spreading lies , he’s telling everyone Engblom came out of absolutely nowhere which is FALSE. Anyone that pays attention knows Engblom started training in the US under/for Jimmy Takter who is arguably the best trainer to ever train horses , Engblom has also been on his own training his own barn for a number of years. So for this fucking idiot to say he came out of nowhere is completely stupid and ignorant.

Back when Jimmy retired they split the barn between Nancy and Per, and there were more than a few people that thought Per was the better option. He’s moved more into overnights after having mostly babies for the first few years.

After the split Per got screwed by Yimmy. Had a couple sub par years then all of the sudden he bloomed to 70+ horses. How do you all the sudden get your barn flooded by owners known to employ cheats?)

What a wonderful thing! He gets horses from guys that have a direct access to the sources that provide the "Golden Vials"! This is like hitting two home runs from one swing of the bat!

2022   906    181    146    121    $ 2,929,827   0.334
2021   342    65    40    34    $ 1,670,149   0.288

Leaves Yimmy and bats .255 then a miserable .288 then in 2022 3x's as many starts and .334 - last yr doubled those starts and upped the avg again to .344 NOW this yr he's off to batting .390 He and Josh are getting better at the shipments and pushing the envelope!  Note that Jason Bartlett never drove for Per until the last three yrs when Josh started helping out.

Batting 250 to 300 on trotting babies is pretty fucking good.

Regardless has anyone ever actually seen Josh train engbloms horses? Pretty sure pers at a training center, surely someone on this site has to know somebody that knows somebody at the place per trains to confirm right?

If all you have is a hammer, in a very short period of time...everything you see begins to look like a nail. It's all you know.

When Jimmy retired he didn't split the barn, he allocated it and purposely stacked the deck very much in Nancy's favor. He did this for obvious reasons, but also because he knew he was going to be in control as much as he could, as much as possible, etc., and he could make changes later on. He also knew that Per had his own connections and could probably attract some owners and fill some stalls on his own. This was all done intentionally. He wanted Nancy to not just succeed but become a real superstar.

Anyone who is truly in this business knows Per is a sharp horsemen. He was on Jimmy's team for a long time and is well respected not just as a bloodstock and confirmation guy, but as a horseman as well. I have a few friends who were owners of Takter's, and they told me exactly how Jimmy approached him and what he proposed. This is not a secret. Everyone in the business knows this.

No, Per did not come out of nowhere. More important, his recent distorted numbers are nothing more than anomaly. They'll return to a norm soon enough. But, I am sure every armchair trainer, driver, handicapper, and conspiracy theorist will get on their soapbox and say that every horse he puts on the track will somehow be a form reversal, a massive turn-around, and some obvious sign that he is cheating. Go play bingo!

Those of us that know, know Per worked hard as a second trainer to Jimmy Takter for years. Whats the point? he can't go rogue out on his own?

I stated earlier that Im onboard with SCM when he uses FACTS--not hearsay, theories, rumors etc. He loses credibility when he resorts to this type of BS.

Per Engblom is an excellent horseman-better than most--end of story--there is no BS drug conspiracy Josh Marks BS--all nonfactual---and THAT is a fact.
