Please tell us what everyone great job he has done for the horseman? The new paddock we were promised if we agreed to leave woodbine? ( now the old one is getting fixed up over next 4 years, maybe. The track surface? It is the worst A track in North America. Track kitchen? Leftover sandwiches that didn't sell in grandstand last week! Please tell us what Billy has done for horseman, I don't see it

It's called divide & conquer. WEG got Billy O to divide the Ontario horse community & then conquered the horseman. Billy O is just a yes man for WEG & smart enough to get a nice paycheck in the meantime.

In O'donnell's last year at the Meds he routinely blew up the breathylyzer which was swept under the rug...was quietly told to go back to Canada.

Sometimes it's amazing how quickly a driver can totally lose it! Saw him in Pompano a couple of years ago, totally lost on track! Sorry to hear that he appears incompetent in his new position as well!

He is so overrated. O’Donnell drove mostly against trainers that drove their own horses.  Catch driving was not as popular back then. It didn’t take much at all to beat up on farmers and 250 lbs trainers.

So overrated, Eric Abbatello would look like an all time great driver if every stretch drive was against:
Per herickson
Ray Shitker
Linda Toscana
Casie Coleman
Ake The Anchor
Etc
Etc
The greats from back then are not as great they appeared to be.

My experience is quite different. Yes, The Magic Man laid all over average drivers at Saratoga in the late 1980's. But, when he got to Roosevelt and The Meadowlands he was truly a gifted pilot. I saw many time a first time Bill O'D. up finnish 2 or 3rd at 30:1. Next week jog at 5:2. At he Meadowlands he was dig dong, head to head with Campbell for years.

I respect your opinion but I remember him driving mainly against out of shape middle aged to old guys that probably could not walk and chew gum at the same time.

YES I AGREE, RON PIERCE WAS A THIRD CALL BACK THEN, NOW THAT'S UNBELIEVABLE TALENT RIGHT THERE.

He could drive as well as anybody in his prime, but developed real bad alcohol problem...Pierce and Lachance then played second fiddle to Campbell.

You make my point.  Wing, Dougherty, swinn, and King wouldn't be above .250 at any track today.  Those 4 were perfect examples of barely average drivers looking competent because of farmer competition.

Again to all you clowns that have no clue, the late Al Mugsy, fixed thousands and thousands of races at the Meadowlands by keeping Billy O,Jackie Mo,and Campbell 'OUT" when they were in races together, some of you do really need to wise up,but i wish you the best
