Guy once ate 3 corn dogs in 3 minutes and washed them down with a lemon shake-up at Springfield faster than Neville Pride trotted home in the stretch. John Cisna always hated Ed but I thought he was ok.
Haven't heard much about Ed since the Becker memorial race at Hawthorne last year.
Get well soon Ed. You're too stubborn to die.

Ed Teefey is the guy that claims he knows every politician in the state.  He's a name dropper that can't make a sentence without mentioning some politician and how either he or his son know.   He was President of ISOBA when John Cisna stole all that money that was supposed to be used for ISOBA stake races.  That money still has not yet been returned.  Ed Teefey owns a bank and rumor has it that the bank has lent Doc Walker millions of dollars to cover breeding and farm expenses until Hawthorne gets back on its feet.  A little ironical that he's president of a bank (that he owns from his father) and yet as President of ISOBA someone stole hundreds of thousands of dollars right under his nose.  Furthermore, he's been chairman of the Legislative Committee on the IHHA Board for years.  Why couldn't he get anything done in Springfield to help the industry or help the IHHA?.  God knows that he knows everyone!

Say what you will about Ed Teefey, but if we had followed his advice some 20 years ago and teamed up with the casino interests instead of wearing CasiNO buttons and protesting down in Sprinfield, our industry here in Illinois would currently be as successful as Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

watching Wiregrass Kerrigan close at Maywood was just as exciting. I remember at Hawthorne tho he come a big 2nd in the winter stake for older horses (Whizzer White?) to that Cat Manzi monster (Beat the Wheel, maybe?). Wiregrass was 25/1 or better that 1 time. I thought that exacta was a good play.

Ed is definitely alive and kicking. Sure he will be in his black suit for his duties at Lexington yearling sale next week.  Always friendly to talk with and has had a passion for the game. The gas city owner has definitely passed on. Teefy whole on the IHHA board always shared his thoughts on lack of leadership with those at the top and worthlessness lobbyist the purse account paid for.

THE ONLY IHHA BOARD MEMBERS THAT WERE EVER ANY GOOD WERE HARRY BURRIGHT-KIM HANKINS-WAYNE MOORE-DUNCAN PRICE-GEORGE SHAW-DARYL BUSSE- AND TONY MORGAN. THE OTHERS WERE ALL ON THE TAKE AND WERE BOUGHT OFF.
