Mohawk Monday
« on: April 07, 2024, 09:32:58 PM »
Race#4-#4 LIL RED SPORTSSTAR 9-2 ML Been sporadic at best this year but got plucked out of his last start by Smith who helped turn Big Bully around & lit up the board in his first start in that barn. Picks up J Mac, gets on the lasix program, looking for an improved performance.

Race#8-#7  WOODMERE ROLLNPOP 6-1 ML Debuts for Moreau, see what improvements he can muster in here. #5 will go off below even money, looking for an option at a price, should bust the gate in here.

Best of luck!  tmbz1

Racing luck may play a big part in Race #4.  Although Rabbit makes a good case for LIL RED SPORTSSTAR (1st LASIX, high percentage trainer claim, J Mac), I hate betting horses off a month.  And Waxman's piece had no excuse not to win or at least be closer last time out.  I'm going with #9 BRING YOUR FIRE.  Granted, he has not been a win machine for his previous barns.  But he fits well at this level, I think.  Watch the replay of his last race closely.  Showed decent early foot to get a spot up close.  Blocked until wayyy too late.  Huge pace late and after the wire.  Watch head on replay near end.  Post no bargain.  Hoping Sorrie can float, find a spot mid pack and follow a helmut.  Too much to hope for?   ngc3

Race 6--#3 Tuf Cooper--was blocked in his first effort after a nearly 4 month break-that should have him much tighter and should be driven much more aggressive tonight. Who makes these morning lines? 6/1 is a joke-he will be less than half those odds, probably lower than that

race 9-#3 Handsome Sebastian-raced very well at this level in February, then got sick and now races back on a regular schedule. His two main foes are Looks Like Moni-who hasn't raced since August and Amigo Volo who has had 45 days off does his best when racing on a regular rotation, both most likely need a race.5/1 is also a joke-will be lucky to see 5/2

good luck tmbz1

I've got four. Nothing earth shattering or long.

Race 1 #4 Perfetto Can't remember when I saw this guy in this low. They won't want to stay here.
Just think he's better than these. Good post.

Race 2 #4 Mercutio Several in here coming off layoffs. Seems to have the time. Good post. Good
closing kick. Steady.

Race 5 #2 Yo Mister. 4th start off the shelf. On the improve. Needs only to repeat last race to win.

Race 10 #3 Treachurous Tom Shows a 1:50+ a month ago. Waxmann claim. almost always a good angle.

Good luck Mohawk players. tmbz1

Two plays for me tonight

4th. #9 Bring Your Fire--- He was blocked for his life the entire stretch, once he got free, he was flying. He really wanted to go, love his chances tonight. The scratches hurt our chances at a better price, but help the win chances.

8th. #5 Armor Seelster--- I watched this replay a couple of times, and it seemed clear to me that Macdonald was not trying to win that race. Hoping JJ gives an effort tonight.

Good luck to those playing

Battle of the 4th race goes to Whip. tmbz1 Nine had his chance. Three stratches,
fairly easy lead. Better luck next time.

My Merculito in 2nd couldn't get loose. Mario's horse in there, much like the nine in 4th. Caved.
