If you don't think Yannick won that race today you didn't watch the race...DTD drew away from that horse last week with a more difficult race....Yannick was in the 4 or 5 lane with that horse at the finish line from cutting a wheel under Tetrick 2x...the better horse did not win today.....the better driver did....If Yannick stays on the rail Tetrick wins by a length....100% fact

I watched the replay and don't think Dangle Then Deke was ever going by the Burke filly.  Really had no excuse IMO.  In fact the filly who came in 3rd was actually gaining on both late.

In fact the Burke filly had a tougher trip of the two in the race at the Meadows, being parked to the quarter and going 4/5's of a second faster to the 3/4s in that race, whereas Dangle Then Deke laid off a fast pace and only had to trot the last quarter. Contrast that with today where Yannick was able to get his filly an easy lead and control a slower pace.

Bottom line is these fillies seem very even to this observer.

I raised this filly from a baby to a yearling and she was the best filly that we had that year.
She has a lot of guts and determination and I think she will go far.

What would u like a lesson on Calhoun?  Why some race horses never make the track because they have no talent, no heart, or they get injured along the way?  Or why the bettor feels they get ripped off daily?  Or why there seems to be the use of killing pain for decades with snake venom, frog juice, elephant juice, or using blood type enhancing like epo, cobalt, the other synthetic epo, or before that when anabolic steroids was a common item?  Know we do see the drug issue come up and the industry has tried to rid some things but states can be more uniform in punishment.  So what is it your referring Calhoun?

Very well said.  i read HRU this past week and Burke won almost half the Stake races.  I don't think this can be good for the sport.  I am often asked why I don't buy in NY and the answer is I feel I will never win if I do.  The Breeders get rewards so they love when the top stables get their horses.  They don't care if they win clean or not.  I am not saying Burke specifically is cheating here...he obviously does something right and has a first class operation.  It is like the Olympics...no one knows who is competing clean and who is not.  Except now in Baseball and the Olympics the people who are performing clean are speaking up. Not so in horse racing.

I get attacked and probably will again here for pointing out the same thing horses first has. Most tracks have trainers that are as clean as the East German swim team.

As for Dangle she got beat...no big deal..lots of horse start out great and then aren't.....and lots of great horses get beat and become greater.  Time will tell but I still think she is the real deal.  The sport needs more Horses First type owners.

No, it was not a good post.  He ignored my followup a few posts above yours.  I guess answering or, at the very least acknowledging, didn't fit his "I'm an honest owner in a dishonest business" agenda.

I suppose he is a decent fellow but the crying owner act doesn't play.

Follow up sorry wasn't sure there was a time limit Calhoun.  I was in Mears MI with the family at Silver Lake for four days.  About as much of a internet service as if I was standing Everest.  Sure you can get the point.  Then worked 14 hours on my rehab project.  So no not ignoring anything.  My take on breeders and this business.  A. why would the breeders want a scandal to hit a portion of the business that is propped up by slots?  Slots a revenue source from one gambling entity to another form of gambling entity that can't survive on it's own.  How many times have we heard of potential big scandals, with potential big names, and it never fully gets exposed.  There have been a few with PA having been linked to a couple.  The arspenic(spell word for sure) there were three names outside of PA that got busted, got many years(10?), and there was even a TV news reporting in PA of something very widespread.  Months went on and nothing.  Then you had the first outbreak of glaucine in PA, a few years ago, and again nothing.  Was handled internally.  I spoke with Dr Benson at the RMTC and they were aware of something but PA, NEVER according to her, gave up ONE detail.  IF handled back then maybe the NY glaucine could have been avoided. However 8 months later and still not much of a peep.  If I'm a crying owner, wouldn't say that I am, I STILL INVEST IN YEARLINGS, I STILL PAY MY TRAINERS BILL, VET BILLS, OR ANY OTHER BILLS THAT GET SENT TO MY ADDRESS.  I WOULD THINK I'M A DECENT OWNER STILL INVESTING IN THE GAME.  However like most sports in general when cheating occurs, big dollars are floated toward those players, there isn't a basic penalty(in most cases know there are) those other clean players start to keep up with the Jones.  Horse racing issue is state by state penalties.  My take on breeders then why would they want the top trainers and there top owners not continuing to win and then reinvest back into the sport.  Those are going to be the ones who do because they have the deepest pockets even if they aren't making money or are just breaking even.  Still churning bigger race checks to reinvest.  Lets take a smaller owner who enjoys a good year.  He/she may say I will still buy a yearling or two, keep to the budget, and keep the winnings from lost years.  It's the big outfits that churn the product.  Owners have left the game for many of reasons.  The product has more or less dwindled to the fewest of foals in more then a decade.  Ohio recently has pumped some life into those breeding numbers with a 2015 and 2016 crop.  However look at the poor breeders awards in IN and OH vs PA and NY.  Those breeders in IN and OH need that big yearling sale price because they aren't making up money elsewhere.  I heard after this year, 2 year old crop that mares bred starts falling off.  That maybe 2018 400 fewer?  I suppose my point is this, the industry isn't bringing in new investors, more so that have left past ten years.  So why if your a PA breeder who use to have the luxury of 42% breeders awards in the early slot days, down to the lower 30% tile these days, would you want to see major negative news that could hamper potential big name trainers linked to a drugging scandal.  The casinos would love the day this news gets out into the public eye.  National TV.  Also whatever I may have said in a forum years ago never came without some creditability whether it was from one of those three PA outsiders who got 10 years(?) or from a no comment wink wink from a horsemen on the PA horsemen association.  I'm not one for drama or just floating out bullshit.  There is time for kidding aside on a forum but as I will say horses first.  They are the true athlete in this business, what most of the public comes to see and wager on.  Why kids or young adults fall in love with these amazing animals not seeing the dollar and cents part of the game.
