A HUGE PROBLEM WITH HARNESS RACING
« on: March 27, 2021, 12:21:20 PM »
TOO MANY OF ITS PARTICIPANTS ARE IN IT TO MAKE A LIVING.

THAT MAKES TOO MANY OF ITS HORSES NOT RACING TO WIN, BUT TO BE SURE TO BE IN NEXT WEEK

NO BETTER THAN THIRD THIS WEEK, SO I CAN DROP IN CLASS NEXT.

NO, THAT IS NOT HANDICAPPING... THAT IS CHEATING. THUS MAKING MOST OF HARNESS RACINGS PARTICIPANTS CHEATERS

AFTER NW 1 AND MAYBE NW2.  THERE SHOULD BE NO CONDITION RACING.  ALL RACES SHOULD BE CLAIMERS OR OPENS

If you are betting a trainer driving his own horse, you deserve to lose!

FYI...When trainers drove their own horses, the grandstands were full, Harness Racing was in Sports Illustrated and on TV through out the Country. Now, catch drivers perform in front of no one.

What is going on in the minds of the owners, trainers and drivers is just another angle to be considered when handicapping!  They don't call it gambling for nothing!

Change the purse structure and eliminate driver "choices" and see what happens.  A totally new and better game would emerge.

There are a few th at can actually connect at nice prices. I dont often play chorus trainer driver combos unless it's a regular - say like per henriksen in days past on a per henriksen trotter. That aside though, there are few others if you know who occasionally connects at a nice price. This next race at big m has one i caught a few weeks ago. Chris Ryder
trained driven. I caught him in a nice horizontal play at $32. Barrage Hanover. Looked most  back class then in first start back. Ryder can win. I thought he might make sure this 4yr old in first start back is isn't overused and that's why a catch driver wasn't used.
