Stratton and Bartlett-Team drivers
« on: May 21, 2019, 08:56:07 AM »
Not that anyone cares or notices-but Stratton and Bartlett are making a fortune together at Yonkers--by team driving-like never been seen before--its amazing what they get away with.
Race after race for years now-Bartlett will leave while Stratton takes back--occasionally Stratton leaves and Bartlett lets him go.
When Bartlett leaves--many times Stratton will come first over--policing the outer flow while never pressing Bartlett--if he comes over vs other drivers-he will go all out the third 1/4 to usually screw the leader and himself while doing it.
Go to any other track--and when they drive vs each other--never happens--because better drivers dont allow this crap --but at Yonkers-they know every move the other makes BEFORE the race starts.
I dont know the answer to making the racing more competitive by rubbing this shit out because why would they stop? No one controls them-and they are cleaning up.

Happens everywhere just not Yonkers.  Top drivers at tracks give each other breaks all the time

I realize that--Bartlett and Stratton-are geniuses at it. However-im looking at races from all over--eg check out Europe or Down under racing--its far more competitive-no holes,no Indian files. How many people would go to Tbred races if most races were run in Indian file??You see jockeys pulling horses back to give other jockeys"holes'?
I know in harness racing you need to let a driver in a hole to"get him out of the way" or to use him to get cover---BUT thats not what is happening here---its done to help each other make $$$-and the gamblers have no real clue as to what exactly transpires before racing--ie its predetermined=and thats what im posting about.

Thats why Dexter Dunn-is an excellent driver--hes learned to think and learn strategy--wasnt handed to him by driver "assists" by driving where very little of this BS goes down.He will have a field day here once other drivers give him "assists".

Would love to see 1 mile strait races.

Post Position wouldn't matter.

Giving holes.

First up.

All would be gone.

Let the best horse win, period.

ridiculous

This sounds like an insinuation of collusion?  ridiculous is RIGHT!  Why in the hell would any driver give away earnings to a co-worker?  These guys are all trying to win-win-win and earn as much as they can.  Otherwise, why would many of them drive 3 - 4 - 5 hours between tracks to get in two sessions in one day.  You can thump your McDing-a-Ling all that you want.  What moron would step aside to hand off $$$$$ to somebody else.  Next thing you'll be trying to say that there's other cheating in the horse racing industry.  If you can't beat or can't bet 'em - don't scratch around looking for an excuse.

I can see the need/temptation to bet at tracks with 2000 dollar purses.
by my count, bartletts 5 percent  puts him at 167,000 for 2019.
you'd think that racing for good money would be incentive to win...

Go to any other track--and when they drive vs each other-

When Tim Tetrick first came to Delaware many years ago now, Him and Morgan would tag team lots of races. It happens at every track.

Yes, all of the time. Guys will pull off the rail or move if they know one of their amigos is behind them. Depends on the circuit but it happens a lot.
