Reopening night at Mohawk handled $1.7 M for 11 races while Meadowlands handled $2.7 M for 13 races
Meadowlands handled $3.1 M last friday without Mohawk competion
Interested to see if any measurable impact tonight?

really???
that is shocking
who woulda thunk
the more relevant measure is what is the combined handle of the two mecc tracks
and based on the numbers there was an additional $1.3 m wagered friday night

It's very funny when the Meadowlands TV personalities bend over backwards to congratulate themselves on doing such fantastic work. Only drawing those handles with Mohawk closed is the reality.

Rough numbers for Saturday
Mohawk 11 races 1.35million Canadian $'s
Meadowlands 13 races 3.05million U.S. $'s
Personally I like and play both tracks, so I'm a little surprised @ Mohawk's #'s, maybe it will take a few weeks for handle to come up??

MEADOWLANDS HANDLE FOR SAT FALLS OVER A MILLION
U S DOLLARS WITH MOHAWK WOODBEEN BACK ON LINE
LETS SEE HOW LITTLE POWDERED SUGAR COATS IT.
IT MAY REMIND HIM OF A DONUT

i do agree that the two daves and ken w were blubbering on about the $3m handles and they seemed oblivious to to fact that mohawk was closed, i know they are not that clueless
the big m is still the best racing but there are many canucks who prefer mohawk
and the big m will start to struggle when other tracks ( especially mohawk) have grand circuit races on saturday removing horses and drivers from the big m

stand forever you make some valid points and concerns
while some things may pull back slightly i think it is clear that governments are never going to let the economy fail , the debt is so massive that the plan is just to continue to kick it down the road and never really deal with it , at least not in our lifetime

Handle at Mohawk more than likely will improve when horses are back racing....program on Saturday and again tonight is tough to handicap. Most off since first week of April, some came and raced in states, some have one or two q's.
Need divine intervention to bet any serious $$$ at this point at Mohawk....give it a few weeks.
And when the two year old's start racing is when the fun really begins.
