Tracks getting faster surface getting better

And breeding to good mares

All go together to make horses unbelievably fast

times are irrelevant anymore. Handicap by class, or by the trainer...

at the Meds 1:48 miles are so common place that can be paced by any horse nearly in any class.
on Saturday   43 horses paced faster than 1:49.4

looking at Scioto results

10k claimer in 51.4
10k claimer after the rains came - 53.0

Here's another crazy fact from last night at Meadowlands.  36 horses paced their last 1/4 at 26.0 or under.

Another 36 went between 26.1 and 26.4

Better breed.   Better care.  Tracks short with pylons able to cut turns closer and better bikes     Drivers too

Race bikes, race bikes, race bikes, driver mindset, and no hubrails. Breed is becoming almost as refined as tbreds. The old traditional crosses do not cut it any longer

breed - agree   care - agree   pylons - agree   bikes - agree    track maintenance

What does a driver do today, that they didn't do 20 years ago?

Speed now a days does not mean more quality or better animal!!!!!! Tracks are faster and horses are bread for speeed durability is in question alot and and it takes away alot if good rivalries aswell because they retire so young!!!’nn
