talk about an unfair start for the 6 and 7 WTF!!!!

Mayhem happened a few seconds after the start.  Looked like 7 tossed his head around broke and locked wheels with the 6.  Number 8 got taken out too.

The track announcer clearly said "Good Start" BEFORE they the incident.  Watch the replay

It's when the timer starts.  That's "official" 

Watch the replay.  I counted at least 3 seconds after the car sped away from the field before the break.

The answer is that there is a thing called a "Fair Start" pole.  What happens after that is up to the starter on whether or not to call a recall. The judges reviewed the race and didn't find anything wrong.

races are timed for a mile reguardless of how far up the strech the started lets them go.

Correct. 

It's called "Untimed Start."  Maywood did it, opening the gate 40 yards before the start/finish line. 

Done to mitigate outside post disadvantage.
