Just guessing ......Heart attack or ruptured artery?
-
Sure sounded like it. Terrible news.
-
Noticed that some of the drivers after crossing the finish line took a look behind them. Seems they may have had a sense of something not right.

Saw the replay. Sad to see any horse go down like that. Makes you wonder what the cause was. How many horses if well trained race throughout the year without a problem.

Couldnt handle auciello gas...sad for the horse
-
Too many people treat these horses like machines. Every once in a while we get a reality check!
-
how many hot lunches can a horse take
-
It depends on how much time in between. They build tolerance just like a human !
-
It also sometimes does just happen. Had an 8yo non-racing horse on no meds - just hay and feed - drop dead in a field. Middle of a sunny day, no sign of a struggle. And another years ago: heard a ruckus in a stall; by the time we got there he was dead. Aneurysm; heart attack..things do happen.

Sad.
