Title: THE BEST AT STIFFING ONE
Post by: Alex on May 01, 2022, 09:57:39 AM
THE TRUE REASON WHY PEOPLE STOPPED BETTING HARNESS RACING WAS THAT YOU NEVER KNEW WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO TRY.

PURSES WERE SMALL, BETTING POOLS WERE MUCH LARGER, SO , WHY NOT?  HOLD BACK A COUPLE OF WEEKS, GET YOUR HORSE FIT AND CLASSIFIED THEN THE SET UP PREP RACE, WHERE YOU PARKED, AND FINISHED WAY BACK.

THEN YOU BUMPED THE HORSE UP IN CLASS FOR THE SCORE, THE BILL PAYER SPECIAL WE CALLED IT.  HOPEFULLY DRAW AN OUTSIDE POST, TO INCREASE THE ODDS, HAVE THE WIFE MAKE THE WAGER AND DOWN THE ROAD YOUD GO

SO AFTER READING TODAYS CONFESSION THAT SOMEONE OFFERED DRIVERS MONEY TO HOLD BACK THEIR HORSES, WE AXE THIS QUESTION.... WHO WERE SOME OF THE BEST?

IN MICHIGAN, IT WAS ART, DONNIE HARMON, KIM PLUTA AND
DONNIE HAD A HORSE, A GOOD ONE, UPPER LEVEL CONDITIONED HORSE HE PAID HIS BILLS WITH, WHAT GAVE IT AWAY? WHEN THE HORSE CHANGED HANDS AND LOU PENA GOT IT, IT IMMEDIATELY BECAME AN INVITE HORSE, TELLING ME THAT DONNIE WAS USING THE OLD RATHER WIN ONE CROOKED THAN TWO STRAIGHT ROUTINE

THESE GUYS WERE ARTISTS NOT CROOKS, WHO WERE SOME OF THE BEST, NOT JUST THE HERPES FILION TYPES BUT THE ONES UNDER THE RADAR SO TO SPEAK?

See race 9 at Mesdowlands Saturday night.

He made sure to give his girlfriends horse enough stretch room to get a piece.

WE REMEMBER WHEN CONOR WAS BONJOVIS BEARD AT SARATOGA AND BOB WAS PUNCHING HARD IN THE CLUBHOUSE...IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAS HIT THE BIG TIME, SADLY

Herve was good BUT his brother Henri was the best. When herve had a fav he would stiff it and bet on Henri whom had seconds under his seat.

The man has thousands of wins, but Tony Morgan can stiff one with the best of them.  Looks like bad racing luck and gets buried until he shakes loose for 3rd and looks like he gave it his all.   ngc3

Great call on Tony Morgan
it takes special gift to be a harness driver with a fave/cofave to look busy, trying to get out, trying to be involved, trying to deliver for the backers..but not.
Actually its a badge of honor for any driver in that category....and thats why no bettor really HATES Morgan.

On the other hand, Toronto's Jody Jamieson has slipped into the category of once great, but, has run into 'choppy' performance waters last three years.
covid? not as committed? too much money? middle age? family? simple as 'stock aint mint'?
Jody, like all star drivers who shined for years, have fallen from former expectation of delivering almost every time to 'just above' hit and miss.  JJ might actually appreciate being step lower. Bettors around me used to curse 'Star JJ' when he didn't deliver every horse. .300+ pct. will do that. But last few months, seem to accept his 'slight step above level' average performance results now.
