The winner of the Grade 3 turf feature at Parx on Saturday, was killed in what is being called "a trailer incident " during his trip back home to Indiana following his victory. WOW! I can't imagine trying to swallow that pill! My condolences to the ownership group.

Update.. The horse was in route home when he was spooked by something in a construction zone and threw himself. The driver was unable to safely stop. By the time the driver of the rig was able to get to him,he was dead from bleeding out due to a severed artery! That would be a phone call, that would be extremely difficult to make.

Unfortunately there is most unlikely anything the driver could have done even if he were able to stop. Definitely a real shame.
