of course even though they are open casinos will take a while to recover
however racing appears safe and at least is keeping people employed

Hopefully that loudmouth egomaniac Brett Risi is the first to go.

Calhoun told you a week ago.

Not enough stupid people around to go to Casinos/Virus test tubes.
there are plenty of stupid people to go around, the truth is Tioga is the only profitable casino in New York state.  DelLago is broke, Resorts Catskill is broke and Shanghai Johnny hasn't helped, Rivers was barely hanging on and Tioga, although it was making money is getting crushed financing racing at 2 tracks.

Purse cuts aren't helping cover the bills

When you have dopes like Brett Risi as racing operations director you must know the end is near.
I'm surprised Vernon Downs wasn't first to go.

Nothing more than a NY State Labor Law requirement. It is in no way a notice to close down.

You don't have to worry about purse cuts any longer.

NYSDOL stating Tioga Downs Racetrack permanently closing Oct. 1 Posted: Jul 16, 2020 / 02:49 PM EDT / Updated: Jul 16, 2020 / 02:51 PM EDT

Courtesy Fred Brown

TIOGA DOWNS, NEW YORK (WETM-TV)- The New York State Department of Labor announced that Tioga Downs will be closing their racetrack on October 1 due to “unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19″.

There was nothing in the release that stated any updates on the casino portion of Tioga Downs at this time.

Most recently Tioga Downs re-closed their hotel to the public and they are still not taking reservations following Governor Cuomo’s announcement that casinos will remain closed.
