Is Nevel Pride in Somebeachsomewher e's pedigree?
If so how many other trotters are in SBSW's five generation pedigree?

Noble Victory and Scotch Claire, Nevele Pride and Pompanette, Countess Vivian dam of Meadow skipper has Volomite blood as does Armbro Impel dam of Armbro Nesbit. Harvest Miss has trotting blood too. Thats not all.

When you go to the 5th generation almost all of them have some trotting blood somewhere in their pedigree mostly Volomite and Axworthy.

They were asking $100k (I think). He was racing, every week. A few guys were standing around, this horse being for sale came up in the conversation, and one Hall of Fame driver said, "He doesn't know who he is by (the stallion), he's racing, just look at him as a racehorse and what he's doing. Look at the horse, he's racing, his pedigree means nothing." Another Hall of Fame driver/trainer, who was considering buying the horse said, "I don't know, he's by XXXXXXXXXXX (the name of the stallion) and for the most part they don't have that real heart, that toughness, it's a lot of money to pay for a XXXXXXXXXXX. I don't know, he's going to have to race against some tough horses, and be pretty tough to not just be competitive, but win. Tough to overcome that pedigree racing against those kind of horses." So, two Hall of Famers, apples and bowling balls, LOL.

I don't know. I haven't had one that turned out so bad that I would eliminate the stallion completely. If you did-----why? Was the horse a sulker? Couldn't stay sound and the stallion was known for it? Bad trainer? No heart? I'd have to really think about it. Great question. Thanks.

After they are 3 years old it makes no difference what their breeding is.

Off topic I know, but a favorite old horseman joke.
An old time trainer and a young trainer sitting on a  knockers bench.
Colt goes by a kicking and a bucking.
Old timer "Looks like that colt has to much Volomite in him".
Young trainer " How much and how far out do you give that stuff"?
