prejudicial to the best interests of racing by being in possession of an
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy machine- $3,000 monetary penalty- SB52082

$3000 fine for a therapy device!????     but go ahead and drug the shit outta horses and get $1000.   AGCO has fucked up priorities.

Do you even know how ESWT works?

It can be far more serious than race day drugging bc

A)It's use can be virtually undetectable b)if used in a malicious manner, could contribute to breakdowns which can cause serious accident.

A shockwave therapy machine leads to breakdowns?   Lolz.    Shockwave is one of the most humane forms of treatment for lots of conditions, and to speed up healing.
Im saying its a better form of treatment than just dosing your horse with painkillers and anti inflammatories.   Thats what leads to breakdowns and accidents.  Horse feels no pain, but the condition was never treated!!

why does Kentucky limit shockwave therapy  to 72 hrs. because, the boys were hitting the dirt when they couldn't feel pain and snapping legs due to shocking them. https://ker.com/equinews/new-ruling-limits-use-shockwave-therapy/  did you read this?  Another effect is a several-day decrease in inflammation, swelling, and pain, an outcome that could allow a horse to work harder than it should because discomfort from an injury has been blocked. Racehorses running on an injured tendon might easily cause further tissue damage, leading to a longer healing time or even a catastrophic breakdown during exercise.
