We had a great time at Super Night this evening.  The rain stopped an hour or so before post the way it looked, but may have kept some people away.  Even with that, the grandstand apron was full, and the clubhouse was full, with people standing up top by the betting windows.  The Sires Stakes races were all exciting, with Mule's being one of the best of the evening.  Loved seeing Lady Shadow beat Foiled Again and the rest of the boys in the Open.  Even with the problems with the Grandstand, good job Scioto.  They need to keep Super Night at Scioto every year as a central location, and away from Northfield.

makes me so happy to see NJH have stomach cramps knowing MT and co. picked up winners share of 250K.
MT been in this for 15 years ( but he know nothing LOL) has had a NYSS winner, and is smart enough to get into a market that better fits his budget and hopes as an owner. He also seemed to find a good honest trainer and partner in SC. Congrats to them all. To you hater s bigots and just plain old assholes, GO FUCK YOURSELF. Just want to thank everyone here and who messsaged me here and on my phone to congratulate us on our win last night.  

Steve was worried she might have tied up a little after warming up but it all worked out ok.  We thought we were the best going in but until the race is over one never knows.  Jason could not have given her a better drive although he said he was a little worried the leader was going to stop and was going to pop out but then realized Noble had her going on.

A special shout out to our groom Kato who has done a fine job keeping care of her.  Next up is Ohio Breeders Championship at Delaware in 2 weeks.  

Lastly congratulations to all the winners last night and thanks to the people in Ohio who couldn't have been nicer to me.  

Now off to the Marietta fair weather permitting to see Sydneys sister Ida race.

Congrats Adam! I sold my mare last week and God knows why they wanted to spend the extra money to race her since she obviously can't stay flat. But not my money nor my worries anymore. Have one more race horse to sell and I'm done for a while. Just a word of cautious it's a funny business when you finally get a good one. You paid well in advance before her and the business always seems to get it back when your riding that high wave. So with yearling sales coming up stay your course on what you typically would spend and not much more. And don't go for broke buying more then what you typically buy. If you think spreading from 2 to 5 or 6 is a good thing? Like I said the horse business like the casino business has a COOLER lurking around to bring u back to earth. Go enjoy the money!

Forgot to add a postscript to my comments about the Sires Stakes coupled entries above.  The coupled entries in the several races last night made for lousy, low odds and crappy wagering.  The Ohio Racing Commission needs to stop coupling in these stakes races.  It makes no sense, and it's applied randomly and without rhyme or reason.  The Beaver entries were coupled in races Six and Seven.  The solely owned Key entries weren't coupled in Race 2, even though they also had the same trainer.  The Burke entries in Race 8 weren't coupled, with almost exactly the same ownership on each.  The three Beavers didn't conspire to beat the Mule and Rose Run Sydney.   Give us a break ORC!
