ONTARIO SIRED 4 YEAR OLD GRADUATE SERIES (Mohawk)
« on: April 20, 2023, 10:46:19 AM »
It already started...I just spoke to their race office to get clarity, top 10 money earners get to each respective FINAL.  I'll cherry pick through races but, Silver Label a top mare now and James MacDonald's out of the money performance (asinine ride, error, fixed?) on her at 2/5 on 4/14/23, let's see what happens on 4/21 as 9 of the 11 are all running back!, tomorrow, Race 2 in the MARES PACE SERIES- This should be an awesome race!  tmbz1

There is always fast food racing - a non winners of 1 claiming race awaiting those who don't favor quality.   ;D

Mohawk, Friday, 4/21/23 Race 2 analysis and predictions...

70% chance of rain, if so 1/4" expected, despite, I'm going on the assumption, a FAST track.

1, shipped from DD, and very well, left from the 10 hole and lost the whole she-bang by 3/4 of length.  Rail, speed, stamina, seems happy to be back :), Maybe not the big slice, but like for an easy piece.

2 Had every opportunity, trained well, despite loss, lifetime mark.  I think needs a rest. Not interested.  Pass this race has 1 more race and the likely final.

3, never raced at 2, won here, lifetime mark here, like very much also for a piece.  Same connections as one will be long odds.

4, seems like MacDonald was more interested in opening space for this horse in the stretch with Henry than his own business, and won, a piece too.

5, Filion has symbiosis with this horse, found the gears and throttle at will, behind a wall in the stretch, pulled her back to not run into horses, let lines loose before wire horse had tons.  She was claimed for $50k, won that race last year off a 3 yo campaign of winning 9 and about $140k, why the claim, problem, I think the new wealthy connections paid and fixed if so (?).  Lover her!

6, High hopes for this one but Tyler Jones is treacherous, nepotism and family success but horse is a talent.  A piece and very long odds and could be a miracle, and wouldn't surprise me, just again who is in the bike if it happened.

7, nice horse, Hudon driver and trainer just by not much out of the league of these.  Can be a disruption, but no.

8, I think the same nod I gave the 2, will take money and capable but no, pass this race has 1 more race and the likely final.

9, Better than all these, was last year and at 2, needs REDEMPTION and no choice for ass raping backers at 2/5 last week, should be there.  I assume 2 moves to attempt to win. Leave, tuck, pull grind.

Prediction - 5 wins, 9 has a shot too and will be favorite.  Love the 5 though who I'm betting to win.  Others, 1,3,4,6 could be there at long odds in exactas if 9 spits, maybe not just 59 or 59/59, but exactas with 5 and others and some boxes with 5, 9 others in tris, and 5 first and reverse with 1,3,4,6 for monster payout potential also in gimmicks.  Mostly 59 but hedging for big payouts.

Race predicted final time 149 2/5 - 150 2/5.    tmbz1

I was all over the #5 last week (Raptors Won) and made note to follow her next race.

Me too. Should've won going away with any shot at daylight last week.

The 7 did cause a disruption lol.  Lined up 975, 1 came for his easy piece.  Handicapped fast, track says fast, didn't look fast, finish time 3 seconds off their capabilities.  5 didn't run back as expected.  F Mohawk and F me.  DUD on me.   11.tb

Cowboys don't get lucky every night.

I'll tell what the biggest mistake was, not cancelling.  There were 2 factors in the end, one was the weather change.  The other, the 5-1 and 4-5, there were not going to be gangbuster payouts with the 9.  So you cancel and it wins, then no big regret.

After 40 years of this, I should be able to adapt in real time, that being the 4th problem.  Ok, learning from my mistakes, and hopefully could mitigate monkey wrenches better too.  In the meantime  angbk
