Last horse I had was a cheap claimer.

I would blow him out around a 2:25 mile in the gallop 2 days out. feeling good, on the bit. Day before race I was lucky enough to have a large sand paddock to turn out for about 2 hours.
Bring him do up his legs and he raced his best over that 6 month period.

Purse wise, better than being in the last 3. But tough to match Hinsdale for area beauty.

Yes, Hinsdale and Green Mountain were courtesy of a local trainer, Billy Silk, who was a "go -to" when we were bringing back horses from various physical ailments.  He was extremely honest, diligent and likeable.  Purses weren't they objective at those two, for sure, just the rehab miles.
