Knowing that  [{"ANYTIME OF THE YEAR"}] you got a horse ready to race, that there was a place to race!!
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

Maywood Park  1960's
Men's club house washroom.
Cigarette smoke so heavy you couldn't breathe.
I am standing four deep in line waiting for my turn at a  urinal.
Man at the head of the line was so engrossed in reading his  program that he was pissing on the floor and his shoes.

Friday night pre-race parties ay Maywood. All the beer you drink and free appetizers. Won a ride in the pace car one night. Wish I could have won Eleanor's heart, haha.

Watching tony Morgan make Magee and paisley look stupid and ordinary like they really were. Tony was the greatest driver in Chicago history.
Larry please share that shit you are smoking with us or at least me because that's got to be fire only people Tony made look stupid was the people that trusted him and went down as trainer

all you needed was a few million bucks and an 8 ball or 2. Sparked a line on the bathroom sink 2nd floor mensroom. She was wild in those days. Her old man Pat was souzed in the dining room before the double most nights.
Good times. Dolbee swore he  11.bz :1 11.tb her but I called b.s. on him

In the early 1990s my good friend and his girlfriend went to Sportsman Park. When he returned he told me it was in a scary neighborhood and inside the track he saw bum after bum with a few actually throwing up on the apron of the grandstand. At that point I took Sportsman Park off my bucket list.

Washington Park: Watching Try's First (free legged pacer) win the opening night feature in 2:05.4 and getting laid for the first time a few hours later.

Aurora Downs: Celebrating New Year's Eve with two good friends and eating pizza at Jim and Pete's in Oak Park after the races.

Arlington Park: Jogging a friend's pacer at 6:00 A.M. in pitch blackness.  I was the only person on the track.  Stone silence except for the rhythmic clip clop clip clop of hooves.  Surreal experience.

Maywood Park: Getting an awesome  11.bz after the races in my car parked behind the ship-in barns across 5th Avenue.  I was surprised what an aphrodesiac the faint aroma of horse manure can be on a warm Spring evening.

Sportsman's Park:  Paddock interview with Eleanor and Mike LaChance (my horse's driver) for her TV show.  Unfortunately, my guy finished up the track.

Hawthorne Race Course:  Saturday doubleheader in minus 15-23 degree temps.  20 great races and a toasty 72 degrees in the grandstand.
