Erv has one for sale on On Gait today. Last year he listed a trotter with year old photos that I was stupid enough to buy. I wish someone would have told me about him. My purchase will be a total write off. If you are going to consider an Erv Miller Horse do your due diligence.

I don't like liars and I don't like cheats. I will continue to expose this hall of shame candidate!

You have posted this before. You got duped. Welcome to the business of harness racing!

I in no way shape or form do I consider him crying but just making potential buyers aware of his experience and that buyers should make sure what they are buying is what is represented. You on the other hand continually defends Miller's operation which is your right but try and be fair for once.

That ain’t harness racing that is every business. If you are too lazy, cheap or stupid to do your due diligence then you going to get burned at some point
-
A little off topic but I would never buy anything from Erv or any of his owners. I bought a mare on on-Gait back in December and paid immediately and picked her up within three days. Despite many calls with the Amish seller in Indiana, have yet to receive the papers or breeding certificate. This guy is worse than Greg
Peck ! I am beginning to get a little concerned about on-Gait.
-
I have never bought one from an auction.
To have a horse that can make money --- is about 1 in 5.... So I don't believe any horse that could make money would voluntarily be put up for sale.... A private buy - YES.... but an auction, No
Horse sales are OPJ -- Other Peoples Junk.
-
Erv or not, if you buy from anyone, anywhere, online, privately, whatever -- BUYER BEWARE doesn't mean you are open to getting screwed. It means DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE! Any purchase...SEND SOMEONE TO LOOK AT THE HORSE TODAY, WHEN YOU ARE BUYING HIM! Period.

BAD EXCUSE TO COVER UP FOR A POS LIKE ERV MILLER AND WHAT HE DID. SOMEONE NEEDS TO REPORT ONGAIT TO THE FEDS FOR LETTING THIS FRAUD CONTINUE TO SCAM THE GENERAL PUBLIC. BUYER BEWARE MY ASS. ERV IS A THIEF.

THAT DOESNT WORK EITHER. I PAID A VET $350 FOR A THOROUGH EXAMINATION OF A HORSE THAT MY TRAINER LIKED AT THE MEADOWLANDS IN 2001. VET SAID HORSE HAD NO ISSUES AND LOOKED GOOD. TURNED OUT IT WAS THE SAME VET WHO THE TRAINER REGULARLY USED AND HE BLOCKED THE HORSES LEFT ANKLE THE NIGHT BEFORE MY TRAINER AND THAT POS VET FAKE EXAMINED HIM. SO YES EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE A VET EXAMINE THE HORSE, THE SELLER PAYS HIM MORE MONEY AND YOU GET A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH.

The success rate for purchasing horses at auction and being successful is low. If you do your due diligence and find value in the purchase you can succeed.
All of my private purchases involved my trainer going a trip or two and a full vet examination. I’ve been lucky.
-
Most of Erv's horses tail off as the year goes on. That would scare me. Many must believe they could improve or maintain the purchase. That is why there are buyers for every horse.

Wrong. The success rate of turning a profit in harness racing is 2%. Ive been in for 6 years purely because I love it. I’ve lost money every year and use a top trainer.

The value in ownership is the inside information received. Me and a friend used to own $2500 claimers at Monti for $1100 purses. How can you make money doing that? You can't, but the info on when it was "his turn" was worth way more than what we lost in owning them

This is a reply to all of Rocco's infantile responses to serious remarks. I don't know you but I do know many of your former trainers and to a man/woman they hope that they are never so broke that they would entertain considering you for a client again. The Essig Stable won't take any of your ignorant shit and likely will soon send you on your way. Thos previous trainers have a common refrain in that you are on the phone almost daily asking questions and making comments that expose your ignorance of the business. You want to act like a big time owner and some others like you, know nothing about the business and are too lazy to learn. Your comments on this forum only expose your ignorance and lack of respect for this business. Your sense of entitlement coming from inherited wealth only exacerbates the
little man-big mouth syndrome that you personify.
I have never regretted being honest when dealing with others in this industry and do know it has cost me
a few sales over the years. I find it a lot easier to live with myself. Even though it is a fact that most
people would rather hear a well crafted lie that the truth. In my over sixty years sitting behind horses (which you have probably never done once) I have heard it said that a good horse can have a bad owner and that applies to fractional owners, as well.

Let's hear for it for a truth comment without foul language and name calling....refres hing. Either will ignore, my guess, or he will make one of his flippant comments.

HOLY SMOKES. LUC AINT GOING TO LIKE YOUR POST. BUT I AM GOOD WITH AMY AND ROGER WELCH AND THEY BOTH TIL THIS DAY SAY GETTING RID OF LUCPARK WAS THE BEST THING THEY EVER DID AND IT ACTUALLY HELPED THEM GROW THEIR BARN. HE ISNT A WELL LIKED PERSON. LUC IS A FUNNY GUY BUT A PAIN IN THE ASS FOR HIS 5-10% OWNERSHIP. ON THE FLIP SIDE OF THINGS, NO MATTER WHERE HE GOT HIS MONEY, HE IS ENTITLED TO SPEAK HIS MIND. WE MIGHT NOT LIKE IT, BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO TRAIN HIS HORSES. WHEN HE TRIED GOING TO RONNIE BURKE HE WAS TOLD FLAT OUT I DONT TALK TO OWNERS ON THE PHONE AT ALL. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. RONNIE TOLD HIM IF HE WANTED TO INVEST IT WAS COOL BUT HE WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO MARK WEAVER TO GET UPDATES. LUC DIDNT LIKE THAT. AND ONE LAST THING, HE STILL OWES AMY AND ROGER $3600 FOR THE LAST BILLS THAT HE NEVER PAID. HE TOLD ROGER IF YOU WANT THE MONEY, COME TO MY CAR DEALERSHIP AND I'LL PAY YOU TRYING TO SET HIM UP. ROGER SAID NO THANKS AND NEVER GOT THE MONEY.

I agree until the seller purposely pulls some shady shit like he is claiming Erv did. He still should've had the horse looked over; but Erv is a fucking crook if that in fact is true.
And Six Pence's post was as accurate as they come! tmbz1

Doesn't work? Come on, even that is far closer to the exception than the norm. Unless you are a foolish buyer. Not everybody who buys horses privately ends up with a nightmare like you did. It didn't work for you, and for a very specific reason. It didn't work, because...You used the same vet!?!?! It was possible to even avoid that situation. Especially in NJ (statute of frauds, but that's a completely different discussion). In any private sale a buyer has to do their due diligence. All of it. You got yourself into what you thought was a jackpot and it turned out not to be. Sorry it happened. Lesson learned.

XYZ best buyer of auction horses EVER.
